There seems to be too much taking place on the ‘Venghai’ front. The film was to be distributed by Sun Pictures, but now there are reports flowing in that Sun Pictures has moved out of the ‘Venghai’ team and now the producer of the film, Bharathi Reddy will do the marketing for the film. Initially Sun Pictures who were to distribute the film were touted to have bought the flick for a huge deal. But it looks like there have been some last minute changes and the production house has now opted out ‘Venghai.’ In accordance with this the producer has initiated talks with the theatre owners and multiplexes in the state for the film to begin its run from July 7. This Hari film sees Dhanush pair with Tamannah. This will be no different from the usual Hari flicks, which are fast-paced and interesting and will build up to a nail-biting climax. Devi Sri Prasad is the music director of ‘Venghai.’ Expectations are running high for this film, because this will the first film to roll-out after Dhanush bagged his national award for the Vetri Maaran offing ‘Aadukalam.’

Devi Sri Prasad is back in town to entertain the music lovers with ‘Venghai’. The songs have quickly taken their positions into the favorite lists and it’s sure to stay for a long time in charts. While Harris Jayaraj, Yuvan Shankar Raja, G.V. Prakash have got their songs at good positions, here’s DSP posing as a strong contender.

Song: Kaalangathala..
Music director: Devi Sri Prasad
Singer(s): Karthik

A simple composition by Devi Sri Prasad and something unusual from the music director indeed… The vocalism by Karthik needs special mention and DSP gives more space for his intonation to dominate. Viveka’s lyrical lines are worthy of appreciations.

Venghai Audio Review

Dhenam dhenam‘s action-packed tune is surprisingly enjoyable; it is perhaps the nonchalant attitude towards all that violence that makes this song endearing – Benny Dayal rocks this one!

Kaalangathale too is a great listen…simple, instantly likeable melody and superb vocals by Karthik. Must Listen.

Yenna solla is fabulously foot-tapping, with a great hook by MLR Karthikeyan.

It’s in Orey oru and Pudikale pudikudhu that the soundtrack goes haywire; the former, beyond the sweeping tune, has an annoyingly staid rhythm, while the latter is itemised pointlessness.

But the first three tracks provide enough value for this soundtrack – good going, DSP!
