The list of item songs that were must for parties, dance shows and even for disco clubs are “Ringa Ringa”, “Aa ante Amalapuram”, “Kevvu Keka”, “Aakalesthe” and several chart-busters composed by the item songs specialist Devi Sri Prasad. The item song “Sakku Bhai” from his 50th movie “Damarukam” also received tremendous response and already listed in chart-busters. Recently, we got the news that “Racha Rambola” is the next upcoming item song from “Sir Vacharu” of Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja and Richa Gandhopadhyaya. The latest news is that DSP composed another excellent item song for Ram Charan’s “Yevadu” and  starts with “Gajuwaka Centerlu…. Ayyo Papam” and showed to distributors and later extremely satisfied with video song who bought with higher prices.

Vamsi Paidipally is the director and Dil Raju is the producer of this movie. Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson are playing female leads. Allu Arjun and Kajal Agarwal are playing an important roles in this film. This movie is expected to release in Summer 2013.

Brathakali
Artist(s): Devi Sri Prasad
Lyricist: Chandrabose

The only voice you will be hearing is that of DSP’s. He tried very hard to come up with this song,a song that may well be the intro song shot on NTR in dark locales. You can literally feel the beauty of the song with the electric guitar in sync with the rythm of the beats. Surely a different try by DSP which has come out good but could have been much better. The lyrics by Chandrabose are just ok.

Neenante Naaku
Artist(s): Adnan Sami
Lyricist: Rama Jhogaya Sastry

Undoubtedly the pick of the album ! No other composer is better than DSP  in  choosing the singer(s) for his songs and he proved it once again by choosing the man with the magical voice Adnan Sami. A really great job put in by both DSP and Adnan and together with the lyrics by Rama Jhogaya Sastry makes this song a repeatable number. In short highly addictive song which makes everyone busy with their repeat buttons !

Yelango Yelango
Artist(s): Jaspreet Jasz, Chinmayee
Lyricist: Rama Jhogaya Sastry

You can sense the folkish flavor in rhythm of  jungle beats you hear throughout the song. Also you can find a small change in DSP’s composition in this number when compared to his previous folk numbers. Though he tried hard at giving something different he has come down on expectations of reaching the mass background with just the  folk beats and not so catchy lyrics. Not a repeat song as of now but anything may happen once the visual song gets released.

Love Ante Caring
Artist(s): Francisco Castelleno
Lyricist: Ananth Sriram

A typical DSP style song but the usage a few instruments gives the song an unknown beauty ! Definitely the kind of song the fans want their hero to shake legs for. Once again DSP comes up with a new singer Fransisco Castellano who takes off the song with much ease ,also the vocie is apt. The funky lyrics by Ananth Sriram add on to the songs grace and on the whole a good song for the album. The song may not go well with some though.

Sri Anjaneyam
Artist(s): MLR. Karthikeyan
Lyricist: Sirivennela Seetharama Shastry

The song starts off with a dialogue from NTR and may well be a devotional song. With the kind of beats the song has, the really impressive lyrics by Sirivennela and the ease with which the singer MLR has gone through the variations, the song may well send chills down  your spine. A very well composed song. Definitely a repeatable song once you get too much devoted to it !

Niharika
Artist(s): Vijay Prakash, Neha Bhasin
Lyricist: Ananth Sriram

This song is surely the second heart for the album ! DSP teams up with his lucky charm Neha Bhasin of Atu nuvve (current) and Hello hello laila (Dhada) fame and another good singer Vijay Prakash. This proves DSP’s mettle with the kind of melodies he can deliver. The husky voice of Neha and the quality singing by Vijay adds sensousness to the song.  Lyrics by Ananth Sriram add the required flavor to the song. Definitely a repeatable tune and the next  in line to be a chartbuster.

Dandiya India
Artist(s): Mukesh, Suchitra
Lyricist: Ananth Sriram, Suchitra

A regular foot tapping number and DSP goes for his much trusted singing pair Suchitra and Mukesh to recreate the magic from their previous songs. This definitely appeals to the mass audience and the fans can expect a real visual treat from NTR. Lyrics by Ananth Sriram are ok and Suchitra pens in the non-telugu lyrics. The repeating or non-repeating depends on the mood of the listener. But may well be a good visual song !

Oosaravelli (Theme Song)
Artist(s): Ujjayinee Roy
Lyricist: Rama Jhogaya Sastry, Devi Sri Prasad

This is a small number and may well be used as back ground score. But the energy the song generates with the heavy guitars is really worth listening in speakers ! Great lyrics by Rama Jhogaya Sastry . DSP adds another singer,Ujjayinee Roy to his singers collection. The energy in her voice  never lets the tempo of the song come down even for a moment and now it all depends on how Surender Reddy uses this theme song throughout the movie.

On the whole the album is a different try by Devi especially considering the huge mass appeal that NTR has. Though few songs are already en-route to become blockbusters few may take some time to sink in.

Instant hits – Nenante naaku, Neeharika Neeharika, Love ante caring, Oosaravelli theme
Slow poisons – Sri Anjaneyam, Brathakali
Mass appeal(Optional) – Dandiya
Below par- Yelango Yelango

Overall view – 4 super hits,2 hits,1 optional and 1 forgettable tune !

Rating – 4/5

Devi Sri Prasad sung Hailessa song. Any reason for using a modern singer like Devi Sri Prasad for devotional album?

My association with Devi Sri Prasad goes back to a long time. Devi Sri Prasad first sang for me for Akasa Veedhilo album in 1999. Since then he has been singing in my albums on and off. He has got semi-folk touch in his voice. When I asked Devi Sri Prasad to sing for Sri Ramadasu, he was shell-shocked. This songs comes a duet that takes place in a boat on Godavari river. I shared a few lines in this song. K Raghavendra Rao wanted me to act as boatman in this film. I escaped it by saying that I have hydrophobia (fear of water).

LIST OF SONGS DEVI HAS SUNG IN KEERAVANI”S MUSIC DIRECTION:

1) Vennello aadapilla – Aakasa Veedhilo

2) Pantham – Sye

3) Hylessa – Sri Ramadasu

4) Manakakkarledu – Okkadunnadu

Well you have heard it from the melody king himself ! Hope this combo continues and more and more musical hits roll in !
